MEMBER'S CORNER

OUR CHURCH FAMILY

revised: January 29, 2012

Please pray for our sick and shut-ins.

Some of the following may be friends of family members,
but we need to offer them prayers also.

Dottie Edwards' son passed away last week.
Phyllis Kreiger was recently released from the hospital in Florida.
Holly Keller's mother (Lucille Potts) passed away last week. Service last Saturday.
Paul Bendure's sister passed away last week. His other sister is failing also.
Our sympathy to the Keller family, the Bendure family and Dottie Edwards.

SPIRITUAL GROWTH FUND RAISER

The fund raiser for Spiritual Growth
will be held February 6th from 5 to 8 PM
at the Dairy Queen on Lincoln Way.
Your help is appreciated.

SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Some anonymous wise person penned the following directions for living
without bringing pain to others or oneself.

"You will never be sorry for thinking before acting,
for hearing before judging,
for forgiving your enemies,
for being candid and frank,
for helping a fallen brother,
for being honest in business,
for thinking before speaking,
for being loyal to God and the church,
for standing by your principles,
for refusing to participate in gossip,
for holding your words when tempted to demean another,
for not entertaining impure or hateful thoughts,
for sympathizing with the afflicted,
for being courteous and kind to all."

PAPER & CARDBOARD BINS

The paper truck has been replaced by four bins.
Please separate your newspaper and cardboard for the appropriate bin.
Please NO plastic!
People are still bringing items in plastic trash bags.
This takes us extra time to eliminate.

Do not bring anything, including your papers, in plastic bags.
Thanks !

MONTHLY FOOD DRIVE
On the first Sunday of February,
please bring in a few groceries that can be given to those who would otherwise go hungry.
Whatever you can give any Sunday OR next month will help.
Many of our neighbors are struggling in this recession !
More and more people are depending on the Salvation Army.

The items requested presently by the Army are:

  • Cereal
  • Dry Milk
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Side Dishes for meals
  • Mayo
  • Jam or Jelly
  • Peanut Butter
  • Crackers and Soup
  • Toilet Paper
  • Paper Towels
  • Tissues (like Kleenex)
Thanks for helping to re-stock the almost empty Salvation Army's food cupboard.
